Bienvenidos a Argentina! BASF hosts first xarvio™ Digital Summit and presents xarvio solutions at AAPRESID
On August 6th, BASF invited agricultural advisors and large-scale farmers from all over the country to participate in the first-ever xarvio™ Digital Summit in Argentina. The convention, which took place in Rosario, served to introduce xarvio to the local audience as well as present digital trends in the agricultural sector. And it was the perfect platform to demonstrate the unique features of xarvio products: SCOUTING and FIELD MANAGER. The xarvio team took the opportunity to present the benefits of their digital solutions, best-suited for the key crops grown in Argentina, e.g. wheat, soy and corn. Both apps help farmers to constantly monitor their fields, identify potential risks at an early stage, and efficiently manage activities to optimize crop production. These advantages were also highlighted in a panel discussion at the convention, where three users from our beta test in 2018 with a field size over 60.000 ha talked about their experiences. The expert audience confirmed that the combination of agronomic intelligence with field-specific recommendations is unique in the Argentinian market and that FIELD MANAGER is an intuitive tool with very good accuracy. 120 farmers attended the event – 20 percent more than expected. All attendees will register for the FIELD MANAGER.
Following the xarvio™ Digital Summit, the xarvio and BASF teams invited their guests to the annual AAPRESID congress in Rosario held from August 7th to August 9th.
AAPRESID (Asociación Argentina de Productores en Siembra Directa) is a non-governmental organization working as a network of agricultural producers focused on sustainable cultivation. The congress addresses main players from agro-machinery, agro-chemicals, banks, agro-media and other stakeholders connected to agriculture. Over 5,000 advisors, farmers, R&D and industry-related experts from Argentina were present and visited the BASF and xarvio booths, where xarvio™ presented its apps SCOUTING and FIELD MANAGER. Martin Bender, Product Manager xarvio SCOUTING, was very pleased with the feedback from numerous visitors to the xarvio booth. “We received great response from farmers, advisors as well as journalists and were able to showcase how our FIELD MANAGER and SCOUTING are essential to manage the increasing complexity in agriculture more efficiently with the ultimate goal to optimize crop production field-zone specific.”
